The Colmore Building, AshbyCapital’s recently refurbished office building in Birmingham’s Colmore Business district, has won the Innovation Award for the Midlands and Central England at the 2017 British Council for Offices (BCO) Awards.

BCO recognised The Colmore Building for providing a vibrant and contemporary work environment. The judges praised the building for its world-class facilities and outstanding amenity offering, following a £3.5 million enhancement programme which has seen the addition of a state-of-the-art gym, treatment rooms, bicycle parking, luxury changing rooms and a drying room, as well as a refurbished reception area and a new 1,000 sq ft café branded &More Coffee House and operated by The Genuine Dining Company.

The Colmore Building provides Birmingham’s most comprehensive offering of on-site amenities and was also the first building outside London to be awarded a Platinum WiredScore rating – the highest available – for its connectivity and technological infrastructure in September last year.

We are thrilled to have won this award. The Colmore Building has become a fitting centre-piece for Birmingham’s thriving business community. Working with renowned architectural designers, MoreySmith, we are proud to have created a space which now houses a community of forward-thinking and prosperous businesses.

We would like to thank our partners, including project managers Second London Wall and contractors QOB, for their flawless execution of our vision for this building and we look forward to the BCO’s national awards dinner in October.
