Chubb locks up Colmore Building move

Author: AshbyCapital |

AshbyCapital has let the remaining space on the second floor at The Colmore Building in Birmingham’s Colmore Business District to international insurance company Chubb.

Chubb has taken 6,188 st ft at The Colmore Building, moving from its Birmingham location on Edmund Street. Chubb will join Vodafone, Allianz, Investec, Grant Thorton, Hogan Lovells, and most recently, Rathbones and Willis Towers Watson.

The sixth and seventh floors are now the only remaining floors left in the building, offering 46,760 sq ft available via joint agents GVA and JLL.

With Chubb’s letting, The Colmore Building is now 85% occupied, and AshbyCapital has let 60,000 sq ft at the building since September 2017.

To have another one of Birmingham’s global companies move into The Colmore Building speaks volumes about the world-class quality of both the workspace itself and the range of amenities on offer. This is an exciting period of growth for Birmingham and with only two floors remaining, The Colmore Building has quickly established itself as one of the city’s most prominent office addresses.

Liz Bailey, Senior Surveyor in CBRE’s Birmingham office agency team, who advised Chubb in the letting, said:

“Having made the decision to relocate from its existing premises at Innovation Square, the challenge was to find an office that could offer a high standard of accommodation befitting an international business such as Chubb. We’re pleased to have helped in facilitating the move to The Colmore Building and wish Chubb all the best in its new move.”

Andy Riach, Associate Director at JLL, leasing agent for The Colmore Building said:

“The flight to quality for all occupiers is gathering momentum as businesses priorities staff well-being above all other factors. The Colmore Building has raised the bar with its amenity offer and customer-oriented approach, and there are more exciting developments for the building in the pipeline.”

The Colmore Building comprises 310,000 sq ft of offices over 14 storeys and has undergone a £3.5m refurb programme.
