200 Aldersgate

Building story

200 Aldersgate had been a City mainstay for decades. First proposed in 1983 it was built in 1991 and became the HQ for the ‘Magic Circle’ firm Clifford Chance until its relocation to Canary Wharf in 2003. It underwent a major refurbishment in 2010 before we acquired it in 2013. It hit the headlines in 2014 when 400 people abseiled 56 metres down the building’s exterior as part of a charitable London 3 Peaks Challenge, – the other two being The Gherkin and Heron Tower.

Our first investment, 200 Aldersgate, three minutes from St Paul’s station and with striking views across the City, blazed the trail for the idea of office space that promoted wellness at work.

Acquired in 2013, we enhanced some of the exceptional amenities including the building's famed business lounge with panoramic City views, a revitalised café, treatment rooms, cycle facilities, changing rooms and a drying room, a dry cleaning service, and Amazon lockers, and signed up several new tenants in the remaining space at record rental levels.
