The Duke of Bedford visits The Avenue

Author: AshbyCapital |

AshbyCapital and our development partners Exemplar were pleased to welcome His Grace, the 15th Duke of Bedford, to The Avenue, our recently completed office and retail building moments from Tottenham Court Road station in London’s West End.

The Duke of Bedford, whose family owns The Bedford Estate, visited the seven-storey building, which was designed by RIBA Stirling Prize nominated architects, Bennetts Associates. Along with 71,000 sq ft of office space and 14,000 sq ft of retail space, the building boasts high-quality cycling facilities including luxury changing rooms and innovative drying lockers.

Also on site for the visit was architect Rab Bennetts, who presented the Duke with a sketch of the building, and Lilah Fowler, who designed the contemporary art work installed within the building’s façade which pays tribute to the location’s heritage and took its name from the Commonplace books found in the archives of The Bedford Estates.

The top three floors of The Avenue have already been let to global travel technology company Skyscanner. 47,000 sq ft remains at the building, set over four contiguous floors, which is being marketed by joint agents CBRE and Savills. Agents for the retail are CBRE and Nash Bond.
