Workspace provider Plus X Innovation has partnered with property investment and management company AshbyCapital to deliver a 23,644 sq ft hub at The Future Works building in Slough.
The hub will occupy space on the ground, first and second floors of AshbyCapital’s 100,000 sq ft office development, which is scheduled to open later this year. The co-working space will focus on start-ups and supporting new businesses with hopes to deliver high-value jobs and generate economic growth.
The space will feature amenities, including a 3,100 sq ft communal roof terrace, café, double height reception, basement parking and electric vehicle charging points. Plans for the site will also include features for cyclists and runners such as bicycle parking, changing rooms and a drying room.
The Future Works building will offer a workspace app which will aim to promote sustainability and wellness. The app will also allow users to monitor energy consumption and air quality feeds.
Paul Rostas, co-chief executive at Plus X Innovation, said he hoped the facilities within the building would help support up-and-coming businesses while also increasing their knowledge and skill-sets.
“It is about leveraging the existing cluster and there’s some great businesses already located in Slough,” Rostas said.
“Fundamentally, what we’re trying to do in the building is to offer the right support, in the right place, and at the right time to enable people to unleash their potential and create opportunity. Our offer, combined with the town’s proximity to London through the Elizabeth line, its diverse talent pool with high-profile universities nearby, and its consistent appearance at the top of rankings of the best places in the UK to live and work will make this a compelling place for small businesses with big ambitions.”
The construction costs have not yet been disclosed.
