The largest flexible workspace operator in the Middle East and North Africa has set up a base in the UK for the first time, React News can reveal.

The company, Kolektif House, has taken 4,500 sq ft at AshbyCapital’s Kensington Arcade development.

With 17 locations and 400,000 sq ft under operation in Turkey, Kolektif House is the largest flexible workspace operator in the Middle East and North Africa. Represented on the deal by Produktiv, Kolektif House has chosen The Kensington Arcade as the location of its first UK workspace.

At The Kensington Arcade it will be launching a new concept: Kolektif Mini, an app-driven autonomous workspace based in repositioned retail space, which addresses the needs of those looking for on-demand flexible workspace that’s close to home.

Kolektif House plans to build a network of Kolektif Mini locations around the ‘urban villages’ of London and elsewhere in the UK.

Kolektif House has taken a self-contained unit with an entrance and 240 sq ft of space on the ground floor as well as 4,290 sq ft of first-floor accommodation above. Kolektif House joins existing tenants in The Kensington Arcade including Pret A Manger, Leonidas and Marks & Spencer.

Purchased by AshbyCapital in February 2019, The Kensington Arcade comprises 26,000 sq ft of retail and offices that forms the entrance to High Street Kensington Underground Station.

Tom Smithers, property director at AshbyCapital, said: “We are proud that The Kensington Arcade has been chosen as the site of the first Kolektif House workspace in the UK; testament not only to Kensington’s vibrancy as a residential neighbourhood and retail destination but also proof of its attractiveness as a place to work.

Surrounded by our extensive F&B offering at The Kensington Arcade, the Kolektif House members will be well catered for and we look forward to welcoming them later this year.”

Ahmet Onur, co-founder and CEO at Kolektif House, added: “The launch of Kolektif House in the UK is something we have been planning for some time.”
